Who Keeps These Files

A small group of writers who live in, commute between or keep returning to European cities, and who believe a good weekend is planned, not packed.

Why a dossier, not a ranking

Most "top five" lists put cities in order as if a weekend in Copenhagen and a weekend in Seville were competing for the same prize. They are not. One is a slow, flat, late-night city of palaces and tapas; the other is a cycling, swimming, early-dinner harbour town. We file them side by side so you can choose by mood, budget and season.

How we work

Every city file is written by someone who has spent several weekends there, not a single press trip. We check transport routes, opening patterns and ticket rules against official sources, and we revisit each file at least twice a year. When readers send corrections, we verify them and update the date at the top of the relevant section.

Independence

We do not sell trips, accept paid placements or take commissions from hotels, airlines or tourist boards. The site is run by Meteor Patch Editorial Ltd, a small UK publisher. Nothing here is sponsored.
